These videos were produced for the purpose of generating ideas for you. For some of you the ideas and techniques will be difficult, for some they will be very easy. I believe that all can benefit from using the capo...the beginner to the advanced. Take the ideas, give them a try. If they are difficult, play them over and over until you get it.
There will be more video coming soon. I do plan to make a comprehensive DVD/video that you may purchase to learn and explore the capo in more depth.
"Palm muting" teaches the use of a palm mute to create a percussive sound that will enhance your rhythm. It can be used in many different accoustic 'drives.' I'll stress 2 main points... 1. Use a flat, closed fist to slap the strings. 2. Use the palm mute after an "up-strum."
"Strumming Patterns" will show you some basic acoustic driving rhythms to get you started.
"Hammer-ons" teaches the technique of playing notes with the left hand in order to add a little more "flavor" to your music.
"Putting it all together" I simply utilize all that was covered in playing "Let Everything that has Breath" by Matt Redman.
If there is a technique you'd like to see in a video, send me an e-mail
